Pontefract, near Leeds
Katie and Tony are inspirations hosts who both have a deep interest in helping children to grow. They live in a comfortable, modern house in the village of Ackworth (Wakefield area) with their two teenage daughters. They have been together for over 20 years and are caring and loving parents. They have recently started hosting international students but have already become one of our best families due to their warm personalities and real passion for working with young people.
Katie is a midwife working for the local health service and Tony works in construction. Tony’s hours are flexible and he is mainly at home during the day and able to provide a warm welcome to our students and transport them if required. Their older daughter is a very determined person working at the weekends from age of 16 while studying full-time.
The family lives in a large, brand new, warm, modern house located in a gated development. There are two very comfortable rooms offered to students, and a separate bathroom for students’ exclusive use. The students will have access to a washing machine. There are local shops within the walking distance, and bigger towns nearby are accessible by public transport, the hosts are happy to provide a lift to the Pontefract train station nearby.
